ViaSat Inc. (NASDAQ: VSAT) is supplying its AcceleNet® wide area network optimization software for the LinkStar satellite networking system to UK-based Bentley Walker Telecom, enabling the satellite service provider to increase the capacity of the bandwidth on its network. Bentley Walker is championing the technology in the ViaSat system as a way to increase the capacity of its Star Nova S2 network, and to offer a better user experience to its end-customers.
Bentley Walker has purchased 1000 licenses of the AcceleNet WAN optimization software for customers of its Star Nova S2 as well as its Star Pro service. The product uses proprietary state-of-the-art compression and optimization technologies to dramatically accelerate satellite link and http application performance. Over 1.5 million customers already use the well-proven AcceleNet software around the World.
Anthony Walker, managing director of Bentley Walker said: “The AcceleNet software recently implemented in our LinkStar system is providing speed of use over satellite links that some of my customers have not seen in over 10 years working at the remote end of these links. With this tool, Bentley Walker is now offering a level of service which is bringing new levels of functionality and Web 2.0 applications within the reach of VSAT users.”
