Intelligent Compression Technologies Supplying Amica Insurance with AcceleNet™ for Mobile Workforce Network Acceleration

March 12, 2007

Intelligent Compression Technologies Inc. (ICT), a wholly-owned subsidiary of ViaSat Inc. (Nasdaq:VSAT), is supplying its AcceleNet™ wireless WAN data acceleration product to Amica Mutual Insurance Company to enable high speed wireless data services to the insurance company’s mobile workforce. AcceleNet dramatically reduces the time it takes individuals to browse the Web, download e-mail and attachments, and transfer corporate files – all while maintaining data integrity. The product enables broadband-like performance on low rate wireless networks through a combination of advanced compression and protocol optimization techniques.

"Given the demand from our remote end-users for truly high speed wireless access to data, we wanted to be sure we licensed the best performing product on the market, which is clearly AcceleNet" said Gregory Saugy, Network Operations Specialist, Amica Insurance. "Our adoption of AcceleNet", added Larry Brown, Amica Sr. Systems Engineer, "was borne out of Amica’s commitment to provide the highest customer service standard. Some of our remote field force found AcceleNet so effective in improving both their road connectivity and upload/download times they were asking if they could purchase AcceleNet themselves, if we decided not to pursue the solution. I haven’t seen many products this enthusiastically embraced by our field users.”

A direct insurer for home, auto, and life, Amica has been ranked highest in customer satisfaction among national auto insurers for seven years in a row by J.D. Power and Associates.

“We understand the demanding needs of Amica’s customers and are pleased to be recognized by a leader in the insurance industry as providing the leading product in the acceleration market,” said Carlo Chiavaroli, VP International Sales for ICT.
