Intelligent Compression Technologies, Inc. (ICT) announced today that UK distributor Tracline has appointed British Telecom (BT) as a reseller of AcceleNet for the National Health Service (NHS) modernization initiative to be delivered as part of N3. Under the National Program, Tracline is involved in making information more rapidly available both in the NHS hospitals and in the communities at the point of patient care. Mobile devices and the speed of accelerated communications are genuine advantages not available to the health sector until now. AcceleNet software will be available for trusts to purchase to enable mobile users access to hospital and patient data over GPRS/3G wireless and ISDN networks at broadband-like speeds using advanced compression and protocol optimization techniques.
As noted in the East Elmbridge and Mid Surrey NHS case study, AcceleNet provided a 100% reliable system with great savings, reduced network traffic and big improvements for end users. John Webb, Technical Director of Tracline, states "As a dedicated mobile System Integrator focused on mobilizing key Corporate applications we recognize the incredible value in implementing AcceleNet. To us AcceleNet represents the best solution on the market for optimizing the performance of horizontal Enterprise applications including Intranet Web applications, email, file sharing (CIFS/SMB). The result for our customer (the National Health Service) is increased worker productivity, reduced support calls, and substantially reduced mobile data bills. AcceleNet eliminates many of the pain points involved with deploying enterprise applications to mobile and remote workers.”
"The NHS deployment is a wonderful case study for us." said Peter Lepeska, VP Product Development for ICT, "It not only demonstrates the impact of AcceleNet for high-latency narrowband GPRS but also for higher bandwidth links such as ISDN. It shows off AcceleNet’s ability to transparently optimize any type of network on the fly without adding support or maintenance hassles to the already overburdened enterprise IT staff. Not only do we have the highest performing client-server acceleration solution for enterprise applications but we take a great deal of pride in the stability, transparency, ease of use, and robustness of our software.”
AcceleNet provides accelerated speeds and compressed data transfers on all wireless (2G, 2.5G and 3G) and satellite networks. AcceleNet dramatically improves download and upload speeds for email, web browsing, file sharing and file transfer applications.

About Intelligent Compression Technologies
Intelligent Compression Technologies, Inc., a privately held company located in Quincy, MA, provides patented software compression and network acceleration products for the Communications, Internet, and Networking industries where data delivery speed over a relatively limited bandwidth is an issue. ICT's AcceleNet(tm) product enables wide-area wireless networks (i.e. 2G) to operate at 56kbps modem-like speeds and next generation networks (i.e. 2.5G/3G) as well as Dial-Up 56kbps lines to operate at Broadband-like speeds, enabling fast remote access to Email with attachments, corporate applications, Intranets and the Web. ICT also licenses compression software to OEMs, which dramatically shrinks Microsoft Office(tm) files, XML data and common web images to enable faster file transfers, software delivery and reduced storage capacity.
