Intelligent Compression Technologies, Inc. (ICT) announced today that Mobilkom Austria, the largest wireless mobile operator in Austria, has signed a licensing agreement for ICT's wireless data acceleration product, AcceleNet™, to enable high speed wireless data services to be provided to the Austrian consumer and business market. AcceleNet enables broadband like speed performance on wireless networks using advanced compression and protocol optimization techniques. These techniques dramatically reduce the time it takes individual users to browse the Web, download Email and attachments and transfer corporate files - all while maintaining data integrity.
"Given the demand from our subscribers for truly high speed wireless access to data, we wanted to be sure we licensed the best performing product on the market, which is clearly AcceleNet" said Gerald Giefing, head of division Mobile Core Networks, Mobilkom Austria. Mobilkom Austria is using AcceleNet within its A1 NETBOOSTER initiative to provide broadband like speeds on its GSM and GPRS wireless networks. AcceleNet provides significantly faster download and upload speeds for email with attachments, web browsing, file transfer and corporate applications to Mobilkom Austria subscribers on both laptops and PDAs. AcceleNet is offered both with and without client software depending on the subscriber's particular needs. ICT has provided this deployment in conjunction with Kapsch CarrierCom AG, a leading telecom and IT systems-innovator of communication-technology solutions, based in Vienna with offices across Eastern Europe.
